Leaked images give us a closer look at the HTC Desire Eye

With three days to go before its official unveiling in New York, the HTC Desire Eye is finally coming into focus. We got our first look at the phone’s design a few days back, but now there are three new high-resolution images which show off the HTC Desire Eye design with red and blue trim. To our disappointment, it looks like the HTC Desire Eye will have a glossy polycarbonate finish on the back, but HTC appears to make up for that mistake by including a dedicated camera shutter button.

The high-resolution images also reveal that the HTC Desire Eye may have BoomSound speakers – even if you can’t see them. If you look closely, you will notice perforations in the black line that separates the glass from the white panels above and below the screen.

Based on previous leaks, we know that these images of the HTC Desire Eye are directionally accurate, but we did notice something a little odd with the image which shows the front, back and side of the phone. You’ll notice that the side-profile image shows that the buttons are on the wrong side. It’s clear that someone made a mistake when creating the image – we just don’t know who.

A lot of people will easily dismiss the HTC Desire Eye as a gimmicky phone since it’s intended to cater to a younger crowd that’s obsessed with selfies. While that may be the case, the phone’s rumored specs do give it a bit of an edge over the HTC One (M8).

  1. Although its flash-equipped front camera is eye-catching, its image results aren’t as impressive as I’d hoped. Still, the flash will illuminate your face where other phones can’t, and the Desire Eye comes with fun software, is well-specced and waterproof too.
