HTC India unveils the HTC Desire 820, Desire 820q, Desire 816G

HTC pulled back the curtain today, unveiling three new phones for the Indian market. We were expecting the HTC Desire 820 to make its Indian debut today, but the phone was also joined by the HTC Desire 820q and the HTC Desire 816G.

The highlight of the press event in New Delhi was the HTC Desire 820 which features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 which features a 64-bit architecture with an octo-core setup, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and 128GB of microSD expandable storage, 13 megapixel shooter and f/2.2 lens, an 8 megapixel front-facing “selfie” camera with a wide-angle lens, 5.5-inch 720p Super LCD3 display, front-facing BoomSound speakers, dual-SIM support and a 2,600mAh battery.

The HTC Desire 820q has the same look and specs as the HTC Desire 820, but it swaps out the 64 bit, octo-core Snapdragon 615 chip for an inferior quad-core SoC clocked at 1.2GHz and is paired with only 1GB of RAM. HTC is planning to bring the Desire 820 and Desire 820q to India by early November.

The HTC Desire 816G sports the same design and basic internals at the HTC Desire 816, save for its processor and RAM. The Desire 816G comes with a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek SoC and 1GB or RAM rather than the 1.6 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 CPU and 1.5GB of RAM found in the original Desire 816. The processor change means the Desire 816G does not support LTE, so it’s not surprising that the phone will sell for Rs. 18,990 (20% cheaper than the Desire 816) when it goes on sale in India in early October.

  1. سلام
ممنونم بابت این گوشی (820) چرا شیشه گوشی گوریلا گلس نیست.
در ضمن با اندروید l(ال) عرضه خواهد شد.

  2. The Desire 820 does have the benefit of being a new phone, however, and as such it’s right up to date with the latest HTC Sense UI, with an update to Lollipop planned to take advantage of its equally new internals. In any case, if you’re in the market for relatively inexpensive phone with a huge screen, a fun design and a ton of features, the HTC Desire 820 is definitely worthy of your attention.
