HTC brings 100GB of Google Drive storage for select devices

This evening we received news from HTC that select smartphones are now eligible for 100 GB of Google Drive storage for two years at the cost of nothing. Several newer HTC devices were already eligible for an offer of 50 GB, but that number has been doubled as of tonight.

The offer appears to be valid for the HTC One M8, HTC Desire 816, HTC Desire 610, and the HTC One max. There’s no real explanation to way the additional Google space just, “Boom, here ya go HTC users.” No one actually said that it’s just my mind being blown right now. Boom. The only real requirement of these devices in order to be eligible is that Google Drive had to come preloaded on the device. That means rooted/modded phones might not meet the requirement and in the past we’ve seen the developer models be excluded as well.

To receive the offer:

1. Launch the preloaded Google Drive application on your device
2. Press Redeem when presented with this screen
3. Follow the screen prompts to complete redemption

If you’ve already opened the Drive app and accepted the previous offer you get the bump automatically. From the main Drive screen swipe to the right and check your space at the bottom of the menu. If it reads less than 115 GB and you have one of the eligible phones tap on the storage limit at the bottom of that menu to sign in on the web and then double check available space. You will eventually get an email from Google outlining the changes to your storage account. As you can see below the storage increases, but it does not extend or renew the period in which the original offer was redeemed.
