HTC Nexus 8 gains Wi-Fi certification, launch to come before October 9

The HTC Flounder (aka the Nexus 8) received a, b, g, n and ac Wi-Fi certification on August 15th. The official document doesn’t go into detail regarding the tablet’s specifications, but it does reveal the tablet is running on Android L as expected. To add a little more to the story, @upleaks revealed that HTC Nexus 8 tablet will come in three variations (Wi-Fi only, US LTE, Global LTE) and that its release date will come before October 9th.

Since the Nexus 8 tablet has been rumored for nearly 6 months now, we would have hoped that it launch would have happened by now. We’re not sure if the hardware simply isn’t ready yet of if Google is taking longer than expected to wrap up the final code for Android L. Either way, the launch of the Nexus 8 can;t come soon enough. The 2013 Nexus 2013 is showing its age and we’ve all waited far too long for a new Android tablet from HTC.

Based on what we already know about HTC’s upcoming Android tablet, will you be buying the HTC Nexus 8?
