Less than a week after renders of a new Nexus tablet were shown off by Google, a new leak has surfaced which claims that the upcoming Android tablet from HTC will look somewhat different. A macro shot of the device and new details claims the HTC Volantis will feature a “silver aluminum unibody” and internal specs which include a 64-bit Nvidia Tegra K1 processor, 5GB of DDR3 RAM, 8.9-inch 2560×1600 display, 64GB of storage, BoomSound Speakers and a 5 or 8 megapixel camera.
As always, we suggest you take the news with a grain of salt. @evleaks is known for sharing credible rumors, but there seems to be quite a bit of confusion surrounding HTC’s upcoming tablet. Based on the spec list, it looks like HTC and Google are planning to deliver a high-end tablet rather than a direct replacement for the Nexus 7 which has always been regarded as a mid-tier, budget tablet.
