Unlocked and Developer Edition HTC One (M8) price increase set for midnight tonight

If you were planning on buying the Unlocked or Developer Edition HTC One (M8) directly from HTC, you better do it now. HTC has just announced that the $650 price tag for the two phones is set to jump to $700 at midnight tonight. It turns out that the listed price that we’ve seen since launch was only a promotion – one that HTC failed to communicate until now.

We were originally wondering why the Google Play Edition HTC one (M8) was priced at $700, but Google’s pricing makes a lot of sense how that we know the true price of buying the phone directly from HTC. The Android community praised HTC last year when it announced the Unlocked and Developer Edition HTC One (M7), but we’re sure people’s attitudes will be a little different now that these devices carry a price tag that’s $100 higher than the no-contract locked versions you can pick up directly from your favorite service provider.

Are you willing to pay a $100 premium to get your hands on the Unlocked and Developer Edition HTC One (M8)?

    1. The initial pricing was a promotion and it was temporary. HTC failed to specify this in the beginning.
