HTC M8 to be unveiled as ‘The All New One’ on March 25

We have a launch date, dozens of leaked (with quite a few fakes) pictures and a nearly complete specs sheet for the HTC M8. All that’s really left for HTC to unveil is the handset’s name. Unfortunately @evleaks has decided to take that away from HTC as well, revealing that the company’s new flagship will be referred to as “The All New One” – supporting previous story from Bloomberg that the HTC M8 would carry the same name as last year’s HTC One.

Keeping the HTC One name alive may seem a bit confusing, but HTC will not be the first try this bold naming convention. Apple and Google have managed to pull it off in the past and the automobile industry has been doing it for decades. We’ll simply be referring to the HTC M8 as the 2014 HTC One from now on. Finding accessories that fit “The All New One” may be a a bit hard at first, but it’ll get easier with time. The up side is that HTC gets to keep all the brand recognition from the 2013 HTC One and build upon it in 2014 and HTC will be able to load up the HTC One brand with all the awards that the phone series will win over the years to come.
