HTC M8 mini spec reveal an improved HTC One mini

We’ve known about the HTC M8 mini code name since late January, but today @evleaks has shared the first details about the phone. If the initial spec sheet holds up until launch, the HTC M8 mini will be powered by a quad-core 1.4 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 with a 4.5-inch 720p display, 1GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, 13 megapixel main camera, 5 megapixel front-facing camera, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, Android 4.4.2 (KitKat), Sense 6.0 and on-screen buttons.

The HTC M8 mini will certainly be a big improvement over last year’s HTC One mini, but the spec sheet will bring disappointment to those who were hoping the M8 mini would complete directly with the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact. Sony took a different approach with its smaller version of its flagship Xperia Z1. Rather that equipping the phone with a lesser spec sheet (like the HTC One mini and Samsung Galaxy S4 mini), the Xperia Z1 Compact has the same Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM and camera as the Z1. The only difference is a smaller 720p display and battery.

We don’t expect the HTC M8 mini to show up on store shelves until the middle of 2014, so HTC has plenty of time to tweak the spec sheet. Unfortunately, we don’t have any confidence that they will. Would you be interested in the HTC M8 mini is it comes to market with the specs listed above?

  1. The specs sound solid imo & android 4.4 has less system riqurements for it to run properly. It’ll perform like a champ

  2. 13MP camera? Maybe HTC are going to put both 13MP rear camera and ultrapixel on HTC M8 \o/

  3. Why HTC mini don’t have 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage and quad-core 1.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon
