HTC M8 may launch as HTC One, leaked pictures show off front and back of phone

Another day, another HTC M8 leak. Today we have three new images to feast our eyes on, giving us an even better look at the minor differences which will set phone apart from the 2013 HTC One. The first image shows the front of the M8 with the same asymmetrical front-facing speakers and thin lip around the edge of the phone that we highlighted with the last leaked HTC M8 image we shared.  The second image shows the back of the M8 with the dual-camera setup and dual-LED flash which should feature a cool and warm similar to True Tone flash on the Apple iPhone 5S. While the design elements on the second image match previous HTC M8 leaks, the metal color and injected plastic are different colors. The aluminum appears to be a slightly polished gold and the injected plastic is black, giving us hope that HTC may have a gold-colored M8 ready at launch.

The third and final image is a picture of the HTC M8’s screen protector packaging. The display of the HTC M8 is blurred out, but the render on the packaging shows a gray HTC M8 with the same design features of the first image. The screen protector also show the name of the device as the HTC One (M8) – aligning with our speculation from a few weeks back that the phone would carry the same name as last year’s HTC One.

What’s your take on the HTC M8 leaks and the HTC One reference?

  1. Make sense (no punt intended) as Mazda doesn’t call their 2014 Mazda 3 as Mazda 3-2.

Nexus 7 started the trend (in IT) that was started in the car industry a long time ago so why not calling it HTC One again.

  2. That’s reasonable, I Have the M7 and I plan to get the M8 only if it has the new one had snapdragon 805, 3 G ram. ( no one really knows about its hardware)

    1. I have One as well dont see need for more momeory.

And also if Kit Kat is so polished that can work with phones with 512Mb is no problem anymore more and more memory. It reminds me PC and when I got Xbox finished to play what are requirements.
