HTC EVO 4G LTE Android 4.3 update too large for OTA – HTC begins unconventional manual update trial

HTC has revealed that the HTC EVO 4G LTE Android 4.3 update is nearly ready to be released, but there’s a small issue. The update is too large to be pushed OTA (over the air) due to the size of the system partition on the phone. HTC is still 100% committed to delivering the update, but it will require a manual download and installation. Details of the process are currently unknown, but HTC is looking for HTC EVO 4G LTE owner to test it out to make sure things are in shape for a wider release.

If you own an HTC EVO 4G LTE and want to get your hands on the Android 4.3 update a little sooner, you can send an email to HTCTrial@htc.com and request a spot in the trial group.

HTC has not shared any details regarding a possible Android 4.4 (KitKat) update for the EVO 4G LTE, but since the company is looking at update options again for the HTC One X we see no reason why Sprint’s version of HTC’s 2012 flagship shouldn’t be considered as well.
