HTC Americas rolls out HTC Advantage with free screen repair service for all One-series handsets

What is we told you that you that the broken screen on your HTC One will be repaired for free? To the accident-prone among us, it sounds like an impossible dream. HTC calls it HTC Advantage.

HTC Advantage is an expansion of the HTC One (including the HTC One mini and HTC One max) warranty from HTC Americas for devices purchased on or after 2/18/2014. With HTC Advantage, those who own a device from the HTC One family will get one free screen repair/replacement within the first six months of ownership. Those who can’t part with their phone for a few days have the option to pay a $29 fee which will get them a replacement device on their doorstep the very next day. HTC Americas is also tying in its 25-50 GB of Google Drive storage and the company’s recent commitment to two full years of Android updates into the HTC Advantage program.

HTC Advantage isn’t as comprehensive as Best Buy’s enhanced smartphone warranty coverage, but we can’t see anyone complaining about an enhanced warranty with a free screen replacement and HTC’s new commitment to two year’s of software updates for its flagship phones. For now, the program is only available from HTC Americas, but there’s a possibility that HTC could roll out a similar service to its other major markets across the globe.

Free Cracked-Screen Replacement
Even with ongoing improvements in manufacturing, more durable construction, stronger scratch resistant screens, and the addition of protective cases, broken screens are an unfortunate and costly part of mobile phone ownership. Starting today, HTC Advantage is doing away with that frustration by giving U.S. customers who purchase any of the HTC One family of smartphones a free one-time screen replacement within the first six months of ownership.

HTC Americas Commitment to Android Updates
When a customer purchases a smartphone, they can’t always be certain they’ll receive future software enhancements or performance improvements. HTC Americas is rectifying the issue and aspires to lead the industry in Android update delivery for the HTC One smartphone, evident by the speedy delivery of the latest version of Android (KitKat 4.4.2) and HTC’s latest innovation in HTC Sense 5.5 across numerous carriers in North America. HTC was the first in the U.S. and Canada, outside of Google-owned companies and Google Play editions of devices, to begin delivering KitKat to its customers.

HTC Americas has also proactively committed to upgrade the HTC One mini and HTC One max to KitKat in the coming months, allowing consumers with the HTC One family of smartphones to receive continued support from HTC and the latest operating system (OS) innovation.     That’s great! I still prefer to use a good screen protector on mine, though. I’d rather to not have a broken screen to begin with.

      Yes but it quiet killing whole expierience got new phone and damage without even playing with it.
      This maybe why 6 months and then new is coming and people can abuse police so 6 months.

      I think is another great idea from HTC.

      Shame its not in EU. Lol
