HTC One Android 4.4 update handed over to US carriers for certification

With eight days to go in the month on January, HTC USA has announced via Twitter that the Android 4.4 update for the HTC One has been handed over to its US carrier partners to complete the final testing before the software update is pushed out over the air. We do not have an exact date for when US HTC One’s will receive the update, but HTC expects all carrier variants to be granted certification next week.

When Android 4.4 was unveiled by Google, HTC announced that it would update the carrier branded devices to KitKat within 90 days – a deadline which expires at the end of January. HTC still has time to deliver on that promise, but we’re willing to forgive them if they miss the date by a day or two.
