HTC One Android 4.3 update leaks ahead of September release

Jason Mackenzie claims the HTC One Android 4.3 update for North American handsets will be released in September, but we don’t have to wait that long to see what new features HTC will be pushing out with the update. LlabTooFeR has managed to get his hands on the latest Android 4.3 update for the HTC One, revealing a few minor tweaks that HTC has been working on. A new task manager and link to Android’s data manager can be found in the application drawer and smoother transition animations give the phone’s software a touch of silky smoothness. HTC has also added the ability to create Video Highlights used any song from the phones music library – a great addition which will make Video Highlights even more appealing than they already are.

For now, LlabTooFeR has only released the Android 4.3 with his MaximusHD ROM. An untouched version of the leaked firmware will be released on August 28th.

HTC has give no indication as to when the Android 4.3 update for the HTC One will be available in Europe and Asia, but we have less than five weeks to wait until it rolls out in North America. Hopefully, Jason Mackenzie and his team are working hard to make sure carrier testing of the software goes smoothly to ensure the release date is met.

  1. Hopefully this will fix the HTC bug that causes the HTC One lockscreen to break, when an accessibility service is enabled. Tasker and a number of other fine apps cannot be run, if you want the lockscreen to function correctly. Being that this bug has been known on HTC’s so-called “flagship” since close to its initial release, I would like a fix (at long last).
