Android 4.3 update now available for the HTC One Google Play edition

A few short hours after HTC posted the Android 4.3 source code for the Google Play edition HTC One, the OTA update was released. The Android 4.3 update for the HTC One Google Play edition weighs in at 185.5MB and includes the same Bluetooth Smart, OpenGL ES 3.0 for better 3D graphics, dial pad auto-completion and security updates that Google released for its Nexus devices last week. The HTC One Google Play edition Android 4.3 update also included a few unique tweaks like  larger app icons and code which finally enables the handset’s built-in IR blaster.

The OTA update is making its way to handsets now, but you can try to manually ping the download servers by going to Settings > About phone > System updates > Check now if you simply can’t wait. Once you’ve had time to play around with the new update, please leave us a comment below and let us know your thoughts. Now that HTC has a stock(ish) Android 4.3 ROM up and running on the HTC One, we’re hoping they can expedite the Sense update with Android 4.3.

  1. dear sir u r tlking about the update of 4.3 but still i didt get any update of
4.2.2 for Australian vodafone network handsets..its too late..do u have any idea when vodafone australia will be rollout 4.2.2???

  2. Just installed the new update and my phone will not get past the htc screen…it’s froze up and from what I’ve been seeing online is that others are having the same issue. Do not install till bugs are fixed is what I’m guessing. Now I have to go and get another phone while this is fixed or get another..also use this phone for work so not pleased at all.
