Updated HTC One in the works for second half of 2013 – HTC M8 to replace the One in 2014

The HTC One may be the hottest phone on the market, but HTC is already looking to the future. According to a new report, HTC has plans on the works to release an updated/upgraded HTC One in 2013. The source didn’t have anything concrete to share regarding regarding what this new HTC One would feature, so we have to play a bit of a guessing game. It could be that this new device is the fabled HTC One Max or a device similar in design and size to the HTC One but with a larger battery and faster processor (think HTC One X+ versus the HTC One). we simply don’t know.

To follow the updated HTC One for 2013, the 2014 flagship HTC One replacement is in the works under the name HTC M8. Other code names are being used with external suppliers and other partners in an effort to reduce rumors and leaks. For now, details regarding the HTC M8 specs and design are not available, but we’ll be keeping our contacts closer than ever over the next few months to make sure we don’t miss anything.

  1. Wonder what that model will use for HDR microphones, especially after the Nokia injunction.

  2. I wonder if the US versions will even be updated to the latest Android Version before they release the new Phone. I bought the phone thinking 4.1.2 would be quickly updated to the latest version seeing as how this is a flagship phone. I guess US carriers create a bunch of empty promises.
