Official: Sprint HTC 8XT to launch July 19 for $100 after a $50 mail-in rebate

Sprint will be selling the HTC 8XT for $99.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate starting on Friday, July 19th. The HTC 8XT was originally announced in late June with a “summer” launch date.

The HTC 8XT comes equipped with a 4.3-inch WVGA display, 1.4GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, microSd card slot (up to 64GB), GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a 1,800 mAh battery. Camera capabilities on the HTC 8XT include 1.6 megapixel front-facing camera along with an 8 megapixel main camera with LED flash, auto-focus lens, 1080p video capture and a dedicated camera button which can turn the camera on even when the device’s display is turned off. The HTC 8XT also offers multi-shot burst mode and the ability to shoot video and capture still photos simultaneously. On the audio side, the HTC 8XT comes with Beats Audio, a dedicated amplifier, front-facing stereo speakers and HDR audio recording with a dual-microphone setup.

The HTC 8XT isn’t really on par with the HTC 8X which launched on Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile last fall, but it is  a decent option if you’ve been waiting patiently for a Windows Phone 8 device on Sprint.
