HTC One, HTC First pre-order round-up

Even though HTC has had to delay the HTC One in the US, many fans are still holding out for the hottest Android phone of the first half of 2013. Many locations across the globe already have the HTC One available and we will continue to see roll out world wide as more units become available. This week has brought us tons of excitement which continues to build as HTC listed several versions of the HTC One on it’s website and the official Facebook phone, the HTC First. Keep in mind many of the options listed can be purchased on HTC’s website, but sales actually go through Let’sTalk, a third party vendor.

Carrier Versions (US)

AT&T announced an exclusive offering of the 64GB model of the HTC One and will also carry the 32GB version as well. Pre-order either model now and make sure you take advantage of AT&T’s deal to get HTC Media Link HD. Pre-order now with shipments expected as early as April 16th.

  • HTC One 32GB – $199.99 with new 2-year contract or renewal
  • HTC One 64GB – $299.99 with new 2-year contract or renewal

Let’s not forget that HTC partnered with Facebook to announce the new home of Facebook on Android this week. The HTC First is a mid-range phone with an alternate user interface developed specifically to integrate the operating system around Facebook bringing the social network to the forefront.

  • HTC First 16GB – $99 with new 2-year contract or renewal

Sprint announced HTC One availability as well, but did not throw in any extra incentives to sweeten the deal like other carriers have. The only perk is for new customers drawn away from other carriers for the HTC One and get a $100 rebate Sprint is calling the “Bringing your number savings” when switching from another carrier. Sprint will offer the black model, but due to production delays a date has not been listed yet.

  • HTC One 32GB – $199.99 with contract renewal
  • HTC One 32 GB – $99 with new line activation and Bring your number rebate

T-Mobile hasn’t listed the HTC One for purchase through their site yet, but you can pre-order it on HTC’s website with a $100 trade-in rebate. The only model T-Mobile is going to offer is the silver with 32GB of internal memory. T-Mobile says the phone will be available later this spring and if you hold out and purchase it through their online store you can qualify for a free car dock.

Unlocked Versions (US)

We hadn’t heard much about this model until we noticed it listed on HTC’s website. This version comes in silver, is SIM unlocked, and includes 32GB of internal storage. Since it is SIM unlocked the following frequency bands are on board to support multiple carriers: HSPA/WCDMA: 850/1900/2100 MHz, GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, LTE: 700/850/AWS/1900 MHz (US). The price tag is pretty decent too!

One of the most exciting offerings to go on sale is the HTC One Developer Edition! This is a phone you can buy off contract at full price and will get you an unlocked SIM, unlocked bootloader, 64GB of internal storage, and comes in shiny silver.

  1. Can I order the sim-free device out side the u.s? or its inside the country only?
    thanks!

    1. From what I have heard from another commenter on the site or from a forum somewhere else you can pre-order outside of the US, but you need to pay with a form of US credit.

    2. I contacted HTC to ask about an Australian release of the HTC One Developer edition, and the response was just to sign up for the notifications, no mention of whether it would even get released there, or any timeframe for anything…

    1. So far we only have news on the silver models. It seems production on the black versions have been delayed so there’s no telling what variants we will get.

  2. I’m getting the unlocked 32GB version. I have no need to flash my ROM and don’t need any more space than that. So glad that HTC is offering an alternative channel to order their phones so I don’t have to deal with ATT.

  3. I ordered the developer edition. The order went through, and I got an email confirmation. Then, a few hours later, I got an email saying my order had been cancelled. Anyone else have this happen? (I am a US buyer with a US credit card and address)

  4. Im trying to complete the the purchase but time after time i get error page (before getting to the page where i put the credit info). maybe its because i’m out of the u.s?

    1. I heard that people inside U.S would need a zip code to buy a developer edition. Outside U.S i dont know sorry.

  5. This may be a stupid question but could I buy the unlocked version from HTC and then hook it up to Verizon?

    1. Its an unlocked version to support all carriers sim, and I think you can use the sim card of verizon on ur unlocked htc. That’s what I think bro. I’m buying an unlocked version to use in brazil.
