Find the perfect HTC gift and accessories

Christmas and the end of 2012 are drawing closer, if you are like me you are compiling a list of gadgets you want your loved ones to consider buying you for Christmas. Our thought is that if you want one of HTC’s latest and greatest smartphones this holiday season you should send this article to people who are looking to get you something you really want. Included in this post you will find HTC’s latest phones, a few hot accessories, and some places to buy these recommended items. Feel free to add your most wanted picks to the comments at the bottom.

The HTC One X+, HTC Droid DNA, and HTC 8X are excellent choices for those looking to pick up the latest and greatest HTC products. For those looking for something a little more cost efficient, there’s the HTC One X, HTC One S, HTC Evo 4G LTE, HTC Rezound, HTC 8S or even the HTC One VX.

Accessories:

Defend Your Screen One of your first priorities for protecting your smartphone investment should be with a screen protector. Hands down in my opinion is the Zagg Invisible Shield. Their product can take a beating, but does not harm the screen on your phone. Some of us do not like those plasticky hard cases either so Zagg comes in once again and offers a full body shield for nearly all makes and models for a complete 360 degree coverage. Plus they guarantee their products with a lifetime warranty.

Camera Mount HTC takes pride in camera design and functionality and this year’s One series is nothing short of a quality pocket camera with advanced features. Why not step up your picture taking abilities by strapping it to a tripod for more stability? The manufacturers at iStabilize have just the thing for this. They specialize in a few different products for securing your smartphone to some kind of pod for a better picture-taking experience. Recently announced was a large camera mount that will perfectly seat the new HTC Droid DNA on any tripod.

Car Mount I do not have a specific recommendation here, but the fact is our phones can do so many things these days that it almost seems unpractical to whip out a dedicated GPS unit when you have a smartphone right at your fingertips. In most cases a generic mount will do, just make sure your model of phone is listed in the description of the mount or you might run into problems with the camera and charge port being blocked.

Media Link Watching movies and looking at pictures on your smartphone is fine, but when you want to share it with others it gets a little crowded as everyone hovers over you. HTC solves this problem for you with the HTC Media Link HD, a device that plugs into any HDMI capable TV and wirelessly transmits media from your phone to the big screen.

USB Extender – Occasionally, when I get home from a long day at work all I want to do is sit down and watch a funny show with my family in the living room and catch up on my favorite social media networks. I have a 25 foot USB extender plugged into an outlet in my bedroom and easily reaches my favorite chair in the living room. This item for me is a must have.

Where to buy:

Check your local retail stores for deals, but not before you visit a few online resources first. We recommend Amazon.com and Wirefly.com for deals for customers willing and eligible for a new 2-year contract. Especially keep your eyes open for the Cyber Monday deals that typically follow the Black Friday holiday or if you are willing to wait until after Christmas there is usually a good deal or two out there.

Protect your screen with Zagg, mount a phone to a tripod, find a car mount and HTC Media Link HD on HTC’s site, and head back to Amazon for a USB cable extender.

What would you add to this list? Which phone is on your Christmas list this year? Please let us know in the comments.
