HTC 8S gets a price tag thanks to Expansys

The HTC 8X and HTC 8S may be part of the same family, but the devices will certainly appeal to a much different audience. The HTC 8X has all those crazy specs which we like to drool over while the HTC 8S has a unique style which will certainly grab everyone’s attention. Fortunately, consumers will not have to pay too much if they have their hopes set on getting the trend setting HTC 8S.

Expansys is now offering pre-0orders of the HTC 8S with an accompanying price tag of £224.99. A one-to-one conversion to US dollars brings the price to $365, but that should drop significantly once to subtract UK’s VAT and subsidize the HTC 8S with a two-year contract. Our guess is that U.S. carriers will be listing the HTC 8S as a $50-80 on-contract phone while month-to-month service providers like Boost and Virgin Mobile will charge around $199 for the phone.

There’s no word on when Expansys will ship pre-orders for the HTC 8S, but we hope the launch date falls in the middle of November, giving HTC plenty of time to see the HTC 8S during the holiday shopping frenzy.
