With most of the details of the HTC One X+ already out in the open, the trip through the halls of the FCC is one of the last mandatory steps in the process of releasing the device in the U.S. market. Since the rumors around the HTC One X+ started with the device heading to T-Mobile, were a little surprised to learn that the device tested by the FCC features support for AT&T’s LTE network. Since AT&T already has the LTE enabled HTC One X, this may not seem like a huge achievement, but you have to remember that the HTC One X+ is powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 3 Plus chip. LTE connectivity on this device means that HTC has also included the NVIDIA Icera 410 LTE multimode data modem – making this the very first Tegra 3 powered phone with full LTE connectivity.
The launch date for the AT&T bound HTC One X+ is still unknown, but we at least know that the device is real and could show up is stores in the coming weeks.
You know this could possibly not be heading to AT&T. I think it’s headed to Bell in Canada. AT&T, Rogers, Bell and TELUS all run the same GSM/EDGE/HSPA/LTE bands and AT&T, Rogers and TELUS have the HTC One X but Bell doesn’t.
