HTC Accord Windows Phone picture and specs leaked in handset ROM

With the launch of Windows Phone 8 scheduled for next month, we’re certainly not surprised to new leaks of HTC’s upcoming devices. The HTC Accord has been expected to be a mid-range device from HTC, but we finally have some confirmed specifications and an image of the device for the first time thanks to a leaked ROM.

The new details about the HTC Accord were originally shared by @Football4PDA on Twitter, revealing that HTC plan to take a page out of Nokia’s playbook with the design of the new WP8 device. The leaked image of the HTC Accord shows off a deep blue casing which surrounds a 4.3-inch 720p HD display. In the image we can clearly see a power button along the top edge, volume rocker and dedicated camera shutter button along the right and the power connector slot along the bottom. The design it not as elegant at the Nokia Lumia 900, but it certainly does not resemble anything HTC has put out in the past few years – if ever.

Internal specification on the HTC Accord are said to include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.5GHz dual-core MSM8960 processor (same as the HTC One XL and EVO 4G LTE), 4.3-inch 720p Super LDC 2 display, an 8-megapixel camera with 1080p capture, microSD card support, NFC, 42Mbps HSPA+, and 1GB of RAM. Like the HTC One XL and EVO 4G LTE, the chip set on the HTC Accord also supports LTE connectivity which could mean this Windows Phone 8 device may be the mystery Verizon-bound device spotted last week.

What are your thoughts on HTC’s new Windows Phone 8 lineup? Is the design of the HTC Accord too bold or is this exactly what HTC and Windows Phone 8 need to stand out in the crowd?
