More leaked benchmark stats reveal an HTC tablet is in the works

It appears that someone from the dev team in the HTC house was running a lot of benchmark tests yesterday on new and upcoming devices. First we learned about the HTC Evitareul, a high-end quad-core smartphone and now a tablet codenamed the HTC Vertex has revealed some specifications on its current hardware configuration. These specifications are somewhat comparable to what is  found on tablets already on the market today, so if HTC intends to grab the attention of tablet owners in the market for a new 10.1″ tablet we would hope to see some more impressive specs when this is officially released.

Here is what we know about the HTC Vertex so far:

  • 10.1″ HDWXGA screen at 1280x 800 pixels
  • 1.3 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor
  • Rear 2 MP camera
  • Front 1.3 MP camera
  • Bluetooth 4.0
  • Beats Audio

HTC has only released two tablets, with some variation, and has had difficulty with sales on this platform in the past. What do you think of details in this leaked information? Is HTC working on another tablet? Is this a good time for HTC to get back in to this field and will it turn heads?

  1. If they are working on a new tablet, they should sort the old ones out first, namely update the Flyer to ics, people spent a lotof hard earned cash on that product only for HTC to ignore it
