Leaked Verizon document claims HTC Rezound Android 4.0 update to be pushed out tomorrow

After months of waiting, false hopes and multiple leaks, it looks like the HTC Rezound will finally get its Android 4.0 update which was promised when the handset made its debut last winter.

According to a leaked image posted on AndroidGuys, the Ice Cream Sandwich update for the HTC Rezound will start rolling out tomorrow. The 292MB OTA update will give HTC Rezound handsets an Android 4.0 build similar to what we’ve already seen on the HTC Sensation, but we do expect the update to also enable global GSM roaming capabilities.

Are any of you HTC Rezound owners still waiting for the official Android 4.0 update from Verizon and HTC or have you taken matters into your own hands and installed a custom Ice Cream Sandwich ROM  already?

  1. fake document.
    just like all the others.
losers all of you who believe it.

  2. Hey Nick, I like how u posted this. Next time try posting something that looks real. So fake, I like how the document has it being released on June 1 instead of August 1. Spelling is an issue with the leaked document, next time try queue…………… Hmmm, things that make you go THIS IS FAKE.

    1. Thanks for the comment. I can not vouch for the authenticity of the image, but I can give you my insight based on working for web teams for multiple fortune 500 companies. Errors like the ones you pointed out are a lot more common than what you’d think with internal company documents. People always fail to proofread and always fail to update dates when using templates for documents which go out on a regular basis.

Again, I don’t know if the document is real, but the errors you pointed out do not phase me.

      1. nick,
it’s because of citizen journalists like you that make the web suck.
if you can’t prove it’s real, then why post it?
i’m sure there is a major network that would find your fake documents stellar.

        1. Sorry you feel that way. If we only posted stories we could vouch for every single time, we would never post about rumored handsets or leaked pictures, new handset benchmark scores or all the other stories that keep this site alive.

I trust the source (AndroidGuys) since I have worked with them for 5+ years.

          1. A simple spelling error does not completely null the authenticity of a document. If you’ve ever worked in a professional environment you would know this happens more often than not. The person that leaked this item more than likely read the important parts, like what the update was and for which devices, and then shared it with the community. I know that is not always the case, but that is what we would like to believe in order to deliver exciting news to readers as soon as possible.

This site is a great resource for finding all sorts of HTC info and it is delivered to the public in a snappy fashion. Things don’t always unfold the same way they were formed initially, but occasionally that is the nature of the game.

Thanks for visiting and stay tuned!

  3. Nothing yet for my wife’s rezound, but there’s still plenty of time.

I don’t mind the rumors and leaked pictures (even if they sometimes miss the mark). Hope and a glimmer of news is much better than the lack of info from HTC and the carriers.
