HTC officially announces Android 4.1 support for the HTC One X, HTC One XL and HTC One S

A day after Telstra announced that HTC was working on Android 4.1 updates for the HTC One XL and HTC One S, HTC has stepped forward and announced that the HTC One X, HTC One XL and HTC One S will all be updated to Jelly Bean. The announcement is certainly not shocking, but we’re glad to see HTC step up to the plate and officially announce Android 4.1 update plans for these three phones.

While the HTC One V is not listed in HTC’s official statement, we do believe that the handset will be updated to Jelly Bean. Based on the timing between yesterday’s news and HTC’s official announcement, we believe HTC is doing a little bit of damage control and trying to stay a half step ahead of the rumors.

HTC is not ready to reveal when the Android 4.1 updates for the HTC One X, HTC One XL and HTC One S will be made available, so we’ll have to sit back and wait for more details.

We know HTC fans are excited to get their hands on Google’s latest version of Android. At this point in time, we can confirm that we have plans to upgrade our HTC One X, HTC One XL and HTC One S to Jelly Bean. Please stay tuned for more updates regarding device upgrades, timing and other details about HTC and Jelly Bean.

  1. Good news but when distributed to carriers such as Vodafone UK, give it another 3 months before they even release it, thus giving the HTC One X on their network slower update than others!!!!

  2. I think samsung is slower update than HTC. Just wait either Samsung are the leader update Jelly Beans or HTC.

  3. When i read this……boring statement from HTC. My sensation HTC_044 still didn’t receive any official ota 3.33. Device from europe already enjoyed it. For sure this announcement, will take 1 year later and the HTC ONE X already obselete and there will be new Andoid version.

  4. Man I hope they push out a JB update for my Evo 4G LTE. Will be extremely disappointed if my new EVO doesn’t get it.
