Android 4.1 build ported to HTC One X

An official Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) build for the HTC One X may be months away, but that doesn’t mean you have to wait that long if you want to get some hands-on time with Google’s latest iteration of the mobile OS. XDA member tgascoigne put his talents to work and ported the Samsung Galaxy Nexus Android 4.1 build over to the HTC One X. In its current state, the ROM is stable, but there are several issues which keep it from being a suitable ROM for day-to-day use. WiFi, audio and camera are not working, but there has been progress made on radio connectivity – giving users access to 2G data.

Bug fixes for this ROM are moving along quickly, but things should pick up significantly once Google releases the source code for Android 4.1 later this month. HTC has not released details about its Android 4.1 rollout plan, but we can guarantee that the HTC One series will be getting the update first.

Have any of you tried the Android 4.1 ROM for the HTC One X? What new feature are you looking forward to once HTC rolls out its official update?
