HTC to stop all sales in Brazil

The news for HTC in Brazil is very bleak.  Due to lackluster sales, the Taiwanese company is looking to discontinue all sales in Brazil.  When speaking to AndroidPit,  a HTC representative stated that after analyzing the sales numbers, we have decided to pull out of the Brazilian market.”  Brazil is predicted to become one of the top 5 smartphone markets by 2016 and HTC could be losing a valuable potential revenue stream by completely pulling out of the country.  Unfortunately, as a result of the exit, many employees with either lose their job or need relocation.   HTC does intend to maintain a small presence in the country to ensure that existing customers still receive support for their devices.

Tell us your thoughts.  Do you think this is a wise move for HTC knowing this market could grow substantially in the next few years?

  1. Is at least a lamentable departure from HTC of Brazil, one of the possible causes is the high tax rate by making the end product is almost double compared to the international market, we really hope this is the real reason and not the incompetence of the team established in Brazil, which is demonstrably unable to service existing clients, we can only cite a simple example of HTC product sold in Brazil at the launch of HTC Ultimate its value was around $ 800.00.
the consumers of the brand in Brazil remains waiting for a new positioning of the company while the samsung gets this part of impontencial HTC.
