May 18th HTC EVO 4G LTE launch date is almost certain

Those of you on Sprint awaiting the arrival of the new EVO 4G LTE should be excited about the latest news.  According to Good and EVO, an additional reliable source has confirmed the release date of the EVO 4G LTE is set for May 18th.  This date has been rumored previously, and now almost seems to be certain.  Good and EVO has also posted some marketing materials that should be on display in retails store in the next couple weeks.

The EVO 4G LTE will join the LG Viper 4G LTE and Samsung Galaxy Nexus in Sprint’s stable of 4G LTE capable devices.  These devices will continue to use the existing 3G network until the new 4G LTE network goes live later this year as anticipated. Initially, it will be launched in six markets but will continue to roll out to various markets throughout the year.

Just to refresh your memory, the EVO 4G LTE is Sprint’s variant of the HTC One and is packed with some impressive specs.  It’s powered by a dual-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm processor and contains a 720p HD display,1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a dedicated ImageChip used for the 8MP rear camera and a 2000mAh battery.  One additional feature that I’m glad to see present is the inclusion of an NFC chip.  This will allow you to use Google Wallet and other similar services.  Additionally, the $199 price tag for the EVO 4G LTE makes this a great deal for anyone debating a move to Sprint.

Will you be jumping to Sprint for this phone or are you waiting for something bigger and better such as the rumored “HTC Note?”

    1. This entire time i thought the new evo was coming out on the 7th of May. Ehen i called my local sprint store the rep explained that he had got a chance to try out the new phone and it was one of the coolest phones he’s ever used to date. He also told me that pre-order started on the 7th, not the purchase date and that the phone will not be released until June. Bummer, but at least I now wont be expecting and hoping to get the phone on May 18th. Hope this information helps.
