Windows Phone Location update delivery offline turn-by-turn navigation to HTC phones

HTC has been focusing a lot of its attention on the launch of the HTC One, but that does not mean they’ve completely forgotten about their Windows Phone users. HTC is currently pushing out an update to the Locations application which they include on all of their Window Phones – enabling offline maps with turn-by-turn voice navigation. HTC Titan owners will be the first to see this update, but HTC will most likely deliver the offline navigation feature to its Windows Phone portfolio within the next week or two.

Offline turn-by-turn navigation isn’t anything new for HTC. It was originally introduced on Android devices a few years ago, but the main drawback of the service still remains the same. Users will have to download massive maps for difference countries which are now always up to day. If you want to have all the maps you may possibly need, you may have to sacrifice a big chunk of your storage space on your device and give up those HD videos you recorded last week at your cousin’s birthday party.

If you own an HTC Windows Phone, let us know how you like the new update and if HTC’s turn-by-turn navigation is as good as other services currently available on the platform.
