When we reported about the HTC Endeavor name change to HTC One X, we thought it was a bit odd since it was a complete departure from everything HTC has done in the past. But new details about the HTC Ville, HTC Primo and HTC Quattro lead us to believe that HTC is cutting all ties to the past and starting about fresh.
Reports are streaming in from everywhere which indicates that HTC will be taking a unified naming approach for all of its devices in 2012. Gone are the days where phones sported names like Desire, Incredible, sensation, Amaze and ChaCha. From what we can gather, all HTC devices unveiled at Mobile World Congress this year will have a “One” in the name, followed by a unique letter(s).
Joining the HTC One X will be the HTC One S (HTC Ville), HTC One V (HTC Primo) and the HTC One XL (HTC Quattro). From all the leaks and rumors that have been floating around for the past 3 months, we pretty much know exactly what to expect for all four devices. We’re not sure how long HTC will be sticking with this new naming convention, but if things go well for them in 2012, we could see the HTC Two family of devices at Mobile World Congress 2013.
According to Taylor from Android and Me, the letter naming convention may represent a specific segment of devices.
V = value
S = slim
X = xtreme performance
XL = tablet
The HTC One V will be HTC’s low-end or budget friendly handset with a music-centric focus with Beats Audio integration. Specs on the HTC One V are rumored to include a 3.7-inch Super AMOLED display, 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor, 9mm thick body, 512MB of RAM, 5 megapixel camera, 720p video recording with the ability to capture video and still images simultaneously.
The HTC One S will be HTC’s mid/high range device with a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm S4 processor, 4.3-inch Super AMOLED qHD display, 1GB of RAM, 8 megapixel rear-camera, Beats Audio integration and a 1650mAh battery.
The HTC One X is the phone most of us are really waiting for. The HTC One X will feature a 1.5 GHz quad-core Tegra 3 chip, 1 GB RAM, 4.7-inch 720p display, 8 MP main camera and a 1.3 MP front camera, NCF, 32 GB internal storage, Bluetooth 4.0, Beats Audio integration and will be slightly over 10 mm thick.
The HTC One XL is probably the device we know the least about. Originally known as the HTC Quattro or Vortex, the Android 4.0 tablet is expected to have a 10.1-inch (1280 x 768) display, quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 chip, 1 GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 5GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera with 720p video recording and a 2 megapixel rear camera with 1080p video recording, HTC Scribe support, and DropBox integration within HTC Sense 4.0.

I have the EVO 3d and I like it but it looks like HTC is still not gonna have a very good battery . That could cause me to go somewhere else .
