HTC Endeavor identity crisis continues – phone to launch as the HTC One X?

The identity crisis of the HTC Endeavor (aka Edge and Supreme) continues today with another rumor which claims that the phone will make its debut at Mobile world Congress in Barcelona as the HTC One X (HTC Onex).  Apparently the Danish htc-one-x.dk URL has already been registered by an HTC subcontractor and will probably be used marketing microsite to promote the HTC One X after its debut.

The HTC One X is a complete departure from the HTC Endeavor name and the naming convention HTC has been sticking to for years. Since the phone will be the first device from HTC with an NVIDIA Tegra 3 chip, HTC may want to start things over from scratch so that the names of their Tegra devices are easily recognizable.

Surprisingly, the leaked HTC Endeavor RUU from the weekend did not include any clues which pointed to the HTC One X name. Fortunately, we only have about a week to go before the official name of HTC’s first Tegra device will be announced? Will it be the HTC Endeavor? Will it be the HTC One X? Stay tuned.

HTC One X rumored specs:

  • Quad-core 1.5 GHz Tegra 3 processor
  • 4.7-inch display with 720p resolution
  • 1 GB RAM
  • 32 GB internal storage
  • Backlit 8 MP camera with 28-millimeter, f/2.2 lens
  • Android 4.0
  • HTC Sense 4.0
  • Beats Audio
  • HSPA+ 21 Mbps support
  • WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC
  • Slightly over 10 mm thick

  1. Love the the specs, love the device…lets hope even with the 4.7″ HD screen the device won’t be too tall about 130mm. Nostalgic for a true Nexus one replacement device even though with a huge screen and more horse power delivered by the 1.5GHz quad core. Fingers crossed for a bigger battery that can deliver enuf juice to get us thru the day.
