HTC confirms first wave of Android 4.0 updates to roll out in March – adds three new devices to ICS update list
The countdown for the first Android 4.0 update for HTC’s devices has begun! HTC just announced that the first wave of Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) updates will be pushed out by the end of March. The first wave of Android 4.0 updates will be rolled out to the HTC Sensation, HTC Sensation 4G, HTC Sensation XE. The update for the Sensation XL should trail the first update by a few weeks.
Additionally, HTC confirmed that the Android 4.0 update for the HTC Rezound, HTC Amaze 4G, HTC EVO 3D, HTC EVO Design 4G and HTC Vivid is still in the works while adding the HTC Desire HD, HTC Desire S, HTC Incredible S to the Ice Cream Sandwich update list.
So far, our HTC Ice Cream Sandwich update predictions from last October are turning out to be true. While it does feel like HTC is taking its time with the ICS update, we’re actually tracking a bit better than the Gingerbread updates which rolled out last spring. We should see more details from HTC within the next coming weeks, so don’t be discouraged if you’re HTC phone is still not on the official HTC Android 4.0 update list.
