A new tool dubbed “HTC Super Tool” is now available on XDA-Developers and promised to be the only tool you’ll ever need to root and unlock the bootloader on your HTC phones. One interesting addition that the HTC Super Tool offers which we have not seen anywhere else is the ability to “De Sense” your HTC phone with a click of a button. It doesn’t completely remove HTC Sense from your device, but it does hide most of the custom UI to give you a stock Android look and feel.
And the best part about the tool is that you can also use it to unroot your device just in case you have to send it in to HTC or your carrier for repair.
There are other rooting options out there which cover multiple devices, but HTC Super Tool is the most straight-forward option we have seen in a long time. Just install HTC’s drivers on your computer, launch the tool and follow the prompts on the screen. HTC Super Tool sounds super cool! Hey, i noticed the G2 is listed, wonder if it will work with my bell branded desire z? Would be spectacular not to have to down grade the firmware to achieve root.
Check the forum, but you might have to give it a try. They simply don’t have all the devices to test it on. Keep in mind that tings could go wrong and leave you with a fancy paper weight for your desk.
The Inspire 4G is supported. Does this mean it should be fine with the Desire HD ?
That’s a question you should ask in the forum. Though the hardware is identical, there are subtle differences in the phone’s software.
Wildfire s is also supported.Does this will root my wildfire s which is an s-on device having model no a510e(Marvel)
