HTC Amaze 4G system update packs Wi-Fi calling and improved connectivity

T-Mobile and HTC are pushing out an OTA update for the HTC Amaze 4G.  No, Amaze owners are not getting updated to Android 4.0 quite yet, but the 1.42.531.3 build does pack a few system tweaks which should make most people happy. The update mainly features improvements to the phone’s Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, but T-Mobile was also kind enough to throw in Wi-Fi calling functionality as well.

T-Mobile will be rolling out the update in batches between now and January 20th. If you’re not the waiting type, you can manually download the 1.42.531.3 update by pressing Menu > About phone > HTC Software updates > Check and then follow the prompts on the screen.  Let us know how the download and installation process go and be sure to keep us informed if you notice anything out of the ordinary after your phone is updated.

    1. This is an update for a T-Mobile USA handset. The HTC desire Z is not sold in the U.S. market. The T-Mobile G2 (it’s stock android twin) has had WiFi calling since it launched last year.
