Rumor: HTC Ville to be first phone powered by Qualcomm’s S4 28mm chip

Another day, another rumor. The latest from the interwebs is that HTC will be unveiling the very first Qualcomm S4 powered phone at Mobile World Congress in February – the HTC Ville. Just like the HTC Edge, the HTC Ville is expected to launch with Android 4.0, HTC Sense 4.0, and an 8-megapixel backside-illuminated camera. But that’s where the similarities between the two devices end. The HTC Ville will be run on a dual-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm S4 chip and will features a 4.3-inch qHD display , Beats Audio and a 1650 mAh battery all wrapped up in a unibody aluminum case which is only 8mm thick.

The HTC Ville will be an amazing phone, but don’t expect it to perform on the same level as the HTC Edge.  The Edge’s qual-core Tegra 3 processor will give it a bit of extra muscle to power through the high-end 3D games which are coming to Android and it’s 4.7-inch 720p display will probably make the HTC Ville look a bit bland.

What do you think of the rumored HTC Ville? Does it pack enough punch to be a huge success? Or is it destined to be the HTC Desire S of 2012?

  1. I think the Ville will be a good choice for any mainstream user with a 4.3 inch screen. not bad for gamin, sincethe krait will be on a 28nm… battery performance will definitly boost up by 30% longer battery life. after all, it depends on how much HTC with tegra 3 price will be…
