HTC Rhyme now available from Verizon, marketing campaign not so ‘quietly brilliant’

Verizon customers looking for a phone with a feminine touch should be pleased to hear that the HTC Rhyme is now available for purchase at Verizon stores across the country.  The price of the HTC Rhyme is set at $199 with a two year contract or $439 if contracts just aren’t your thing.  Paying $199 for a phone that feature mid-range specs and no support for Verizon’s 4G LTE network may sound outrageous, but the cost seems a little more reasonable when you consider that the HTC Rhyme comes bundled with tangle-free headphones, a charm indicator, and a docking station.

We’re still not convinced that the HTC Rhyme is the best approach for a phone targeted directly at women, but we do with HTC would include some of these premium accessories with some of their other phones somewhere down the line. The new ad for the HTC Rhyme feel a bit out of touch with HTC’s understated approach from the part.  It feels like Verizon may have taken the create lead on this one since a six-armed woman doesn’t really say “quietly brilliant.”
