Mysterious HTC Rezound gains its DLNA certification

Many of HTC’s devices start as a rumour, or are leaked going through one of the many certification processes that all of the combined tech needs to make a workable smartphone. The HTC Rezound a formerly unheralded device, appeared seeking and receiving it’s DLNA certification. It’s the boutique functionality for smartphones at the moment, being able to stream media to your handset from another device, computer, acting as a server, storage for the media. So much so that yesterday HTC released a dedicated application for Windows Phone that is dedicated to the same function. DLNA is set to become a standard feature in lot’s of digital devices, so it’s not a shock to see a new HTC device pop up for certification.

The Rezound at this point is a bit of an enigma, we know nothing more of it than this. HTC’s recent partnership with Beats Technology signalled a new level of media service from their devices, so it looks like DLNA will become standard. As for the Rezound, it may be an alternate code name for something we’ve heard rumoured before, or a brand new device. There’s absolutely no clue from the source, so we will have to wait and see what becomes evident in the future. Looks like HTC will definitely have at least eight new devices available for the holidays, Christmas season. Look for more on the Rezound in the near future!
