Telstra Officially Getting the HTC Sensation!

I thought I caught a couple of sly tweets this week from @Telstra_News, one especially that caught my eye yesterday. Telstra will be launching the HTC Sensation in July! This is huge news for down under, with a new wave of next generation handsets becoming available locally. The Sensation is a dual core, high resolution device, with a screen measuring in at 4.3”, and it;s qHD, a new resolution 540 x 960 pixels. It’ll be running Gingerbread [Android 2.3.?] and HTC’s Sense 3.0. This is one of the first of many of a new generation of dual core handsets to filter to Australian shores and it will be exclusive to Telstra, who also have the Galaxy S 2.

HTC Sensation Key Features:

  • Android™ 2.3 (Gingerbread) with HTC Sense 3.0
  • 4.3-inch qHD touch screen with 540 x 960 resolution
  • 1.2 GHz dual-core processor
  • 8 megapixel camera with auto focus and dual LED flash
  • 1080p HD video recording
  • 1GB of internal phone storage. Memory expandable up to 32GB with a MicroSD card (8GB card included).

While Android is not for everyone, I’m sure the Sensation will garner lot’s of interest locally, as it is probably the most stylish, and powerful handset on the market, a great coup for @Telstra. Telstra has confirmed the phone is coming, but as to when we are left to wonder, can’t wait to get my hands on one of these just to feel the speed.
