Official: HTC Status heading to AT&T

AT&T customer looking for the easiest way t connect on Facebook while on the go should be thrilled to learn that AT&T and officially announced that they will be launching the HTC Status (aka the HTC ChaCha)… again.  HTC made it know when the handset was first unveiled at Mobile World Congress that the phone would be exclusively available on AT&T in the U.S. market.  Since the phone’s first unveiling, the HTC Status has gotten a small spec boost which includes a more powerful 800 MHz processor.  No, the HTC Status will not be competing with the HTC Sensation or the EVO 3D, but the portrait keyboard device is sure to thrill teens across the country who simply can’t spend more than a few minutes away from Facebook.

The HTC Status is a full Android phone with HTC Sense, but with the inclusion of a dedicated Facebook button on the front of the device many have dubbed the handset as the Facebook Phone.  The Facebook button allows users to share picture, web links, video, music, and a whole lot more directly with their Facebook friends.  I know I wouldn’t want to do any of that since I only log into Facebook about once a week, but I can certainly see how a phone with these capabilities is certainly appealing.

AT&T’s press release did not give any indication as to when the HTC Status would launch, so be sure to check back in is you want an update on the Status. Get it?
