HTC EVO 3D Q&A (your questions, our answers)

In an effort to answer as many questions about the new HTC EVO 3D, we have put together a list of all your questions which you sent in via Twitter.  Most of them were on topic, but there are a few that are a bit bazar.  Let us know what you think.  If we didn’t get to your question, sound off in the comments section below and we’ll do our best to find the right answer for you.

Q: Is the bootloader locked on the EVO 3D?
A: Yes.  The bootloader on the EVO 3D is locked…for now.  No details on when HTC will be unlocking it

Q: Does it requires 3D glass to view it’s screen
A: No glasses needed to enjoy 3D content.

Q: Is there any chance of a UK variant over the pond?
A: Most likely.  The EVO 3D has been listed on HTC’s global website for some time.  We’re projecting a July release in Europe.

Q: Is battery life going to be any better than the original?
A: Battery life isn’t exceptional.  So far we’ve averaged around 11 hours on a single charge.

Q: How long should the recommend 3d movie effect be exposed, it’s about 1.5 hours.in the DSI.
A: HTC has not released any details.  I’ve watched the Green Hornet movie that’s included on the phone without feeling any eye strain.

Q: How can I get one without giving you more money than I have?
A: Depends on how much money you have.

Q: What’s the price for India and when will it be available in India?
A: No details on pricing or availability have been announced yet.  Should be this summer.

Q: I recently heard that the EVO 3D had a maintenance update what was that for?
A: There have been a few app updates which fix bugs in the Contacts and Calendar apps along with a few widgets.

Q: Does the user created 3D content look good?
A: Yes, as long as you frame it right.

Q: What if you put a pass lock and go to an app on the lock screen?
A: Pass screen shows up immediately after you unlock (even if you directly launch an app from the lock screen)

Q: How mean peanuts can fit on the evo3d screen without stacking them?
A: Not sure.  Can anyone test this out and send us a picture?

Q: If the EVO 3D was a type of angiosperm, would it be monocotyledonous or dichotomous and why?
A: That question is way above my pay grade.  Anyone wanna give it a shot?

Q: Where are you hiding its source, you smug son of a bitch.
A: I never had it!

  1. Will there be a GSM EVO 3D? (EU)

(and remove CAPTCHA… there barely any comments on the first place and it”s too early to start trying to stop spammers)

  2. I picked one of these up yesterday and have had no issues as of yet. The first initial charge that it came prepackaged with lasted more than eight hours before I decided to plug it in for the first time. So far it is a great phone, and the call quality was not nearly as bad as I had read about. It’s miles high above my old Touch Pro 2, but most Android phones are. Anticipating the unlock, but until that happens, I’m cool with the plain Sense with 2.3.

  3. @DarknesSx yeah, it should be heading to Europe this summer. I wish I could turn CAPTCHA but we get about 50 spam comments a day. Sorry.
