HTC Puccini to be HTC’s third Android tablet?

Rumors about a 10-inch Honeycomb tablet from HTC have been circulating since March.  HTC’s second Android tablet  has been known as the HTC Verdi, but it looks like we’re stumbled upon details regarding a third one, the HTC Puccini.  The HTC Puccini is expected to feature a 10-inch display, Android 3.0, and compatibility of AT&T’s upcoming 4G LTE network, and a front-facing camera.  Since AT&T isn’t expected to launch their true 4G network until later this year, we’re don’t expect HTC to launch the AT&T version of the HTC Puccini until late summer.

But that doesn’t mean we will have to wait that long for HTC to release a GSM version of the Puccini in Europe or a Wi-Fi variant here in the U.S. market.  Like its 7-inch predecessor, the HTC Puccini will also include HTC Scribe with digital pen input.

We’d like to note that the HTC Verdi and HTC Puccini are most likely two separate devices.  Though new about the HTC Verdi has been quiet for some time, we don’t think it’s a coincidence that HTC is choosing names of Italian composers for these tablets.  The names for the two 10-inch tablets are derived from Giuseppe Verdi and Giacomo Puccini.

The price and launch date of the HTC Puccini are unknown at the moment, but since a Wi-Fi HTC Flyer is being priced at $499, don’t expect the Puccini to be prices any lower than $599.  Is anyone planning on skipping the HTC Flyer and opt for the larger HTC Puccini?

  1. There are at least 3 Android (Honeycomb) tablets already (Motorola, Acer, Asus, and perhaps more), by the time HTC decides to sell his device there will be many more, HTC better catch up with the market soon or just leave it for the others.

Not a chance. HTC is so good at these devices (I own two of them), that they can afford to wait. They have a track record of making the wait well worth it.

  3. I am going to be waiting. I want a 10″ so I was looking at the Samsung that is coming out tomorrow, but decided against and to wait for the Puccini!!
