Older handsets will not get HTC Sense 3.0 but select features could trickle down

It’s no secret that the new HTC Sense 3.0 is one of the most stunning Android interfaces even made, but if you don’t have plans to pick up the HTC Flyer, HTC Sensation, or the HTC EVO 3D you may be left in the dark. HTC has just made it know that HTC Sense 3.0 will not be retrofitted to HTC handsets which have already been released. This is certainly a hard blow for anyone who’s just picked up the HTC Thunderbolt, Inspire 4G, or the Desire HD, but not at all surprising. While these handset’s are among the best Android handsets currently on the market, they simply lack the raw power to make HTC Sense 3.0 a smooth experience.

But that doesn’t mean some of the new 3.0 features will not be coming to older handsets. This morning HTC set out a second tweet, stating that is already working to bring some of the new UI’s aspects to current Sense devices. We’re not exactly sure which features will be augmented to work with current handsets, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed and hope that the new unlock screen makes the cut.
