myTouch 3G Slide Froyo update now available

The Froyo update for the myTouch 3G Slide has finally landed.  We apologize for our delay in reporting the news, but we’re hoping you can forgive our tardiness since T-Mobile and HTC have certainly taken their time in rolling out the Android 2.2.1 update for this handset.  While T-Mobile and HTC never promised a timely Froyo update for the Slide, T-Mobile employees have been promising customers an update since the first day the handset launched.

But let’s focus on the positive.  The Android 2.2.1 update for the myTouch 3G Slide should give users a bit more stability and an overall system performance boost.  Some of the new features baked into the new update include Wi-Fi calling, Wi-Fi Hotspot, USB tethering, and fixes to the text messaging application.  The only bad part about the update is that myTouch Slide owners will need to install it manually through their computers.  T-Mobile will not be sending out an OTA notification to let people know that the update is available.

For a full list of features and installation instructions, head over to HTC’s myTouch 3G Slide support page.  The installation process is pretty painless and quick, but we suggest you set aside a good 20-30 minutes just to be safe.

  1. It’s pretty good enough gadget because it enhanced with the Wi-Fi. Even if it has a big screen still it looks good.
