HTC Flyer 3G now available for pre-order in the UK

The HTC Flyer is so close to launching that we can almost feel it.  UK retailer, The Carphone Warehouse has just launched their pre-order page for HTC’s first tablet, offering it up for £599.99 (roughly $980).  If you’re thinking that the price is a bit steep, you’re not the only one.  Currently, the Motorola XOOM is selling for the same exact price in the UK though that tablet comes with a 10.1-inch display and NVIDIA’s dual-core Tegra 2 processor.

The Carphone Warehouse makes no indication as to when the 3G HTC Flyer will ship.  Our suggestion is to simply wait it out a little and hopefully the price will fall dramatically once the Wi-Fi version of the HTC Flyer becomes available.  3G connectivity is certainly nice if you need to be connected al the time, but anyone who’s waiting to buy the HTC Flyer probably is already carrying around an Android powered HTC phone that is capable of 3G data tethering.

my question is… ¿Can I use the HTC flyer as a normal phone? I mean i can make normal phone calls and texts?
