Verizon bound HTC Merge gets torn apart by the FCC

After the HTC Merge announcement from last week, we were wondering when Verizon would get around to announcing the launch of the handset on their network.  We still have no official worked from Big Red, but the FCC has just outed the HTC Merge, accompanied with its Verizon branded user manual.  The funny thing is, the guys over at the FCC did a really good job covering up all the Verizon branding while taking pictures of the handset.  If you want to take a peek at the HTC Merge from every possible angle (outside and inside) we suggest you head on over to the FCC’s site and click through all the documents they have shared.

The HTC Merge announcement from last week indicated that the handset would launch in early spring.  According to our calendar, spring is only two and a half weeks away (March 20).  Oddly enough, that’s pretty darn close to this year’s CTIA.  Now, who’s willing to bet that Verizon launches the HTC Merge at CTIA just like Sprint did with the HTC EVO Shift 4G at CES back in January?
