Rumor: HTC Pyramid may be first dual-core phone from HTC

While we’ve been playing around with the HTC Inspire 4G, our very good friends over at Android and Me have been treated to some bits of information regarding HTC’s first dual-core Android phone. The rumored handset is named HTC Pyramid and will feature the dual-core 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8260 processor, a 4.3 inch qHD display, and support for HSPA+. The HTC Pyramid’s rumored specs certainly don’t match up with any of the leaked handset’s we’re expecting HTC to unveil at Mobile World congress next week. But since the rumor also suggests that the HTC pyramid will be heading to T-Mobile USA, we would expect HTC to wait until CTIA in March to unveil the handset.

The source of the HTC Pyramid rumor is not revealed, but Android and Me claims that they have received legitimate information from them in the past. T-Mobile customers have been craving an HTC phone with a 4.3 inch display for quite some time. If the HTC Pyramid rumor plays out, T-Mobile subscribers will again step into the lead since the new handset should easily outperform the HTC Thunderbolt and HTC Inspire 4G which are expected to launch within a few weeks.
