T-Mobile pushes out Android 2.2 OTA update to the myTouch 3G 3.5mm and Fender LE

T-Mobile’s looking to keep a good number of customers happy by announcing that the myTouch 3G 3.5mm and the myTouch Fender LE with both be getting Android 2.2 within the coming weeks.  The update will essentially deliver the same functionality that the original myTouch 3G received when it was updated to Froyo late last fall.

Some of the Android 2.2 enhancements include a fully integrated exchange client, T-Mobile’s Faves Gallery, new home screen enhancements and widgets, and the updated Gmail application.  The OTA update should already be hitting myTouch 3G 3.5mm and Fender LE handsets, but there is no way to determine exactly when your phone will get the update.  T-Mobile has no control over the update process since it is being pushed out by Google.  The Android 2.2 update process is expected to hit all handsets by February 1st

Now that the full family of myTouch 3G handsets has gotten a taste of Froyo, lets home HTC and T-Mobile have finally finished up the Android 2.2 build for the myTouch 3G Slide.  The update was promised to users when the handset was released last summer.  We’re sure that most Slide customers are growing more and more impatient by the day.
