New handset pictures hint at HTC DROID Incredible successor

When news about the HTC Thunderbolt started surfacing, many speculated that it would be named the DROID Incredible HD.  The name didn’t stick, but that doesn’t mean that HTC and Verizon didn’t have plans to release a second DROID Incredible.  New images have shown up which give us a pretty clear picture of what the Incredible’s successor will look like.

The front of the handset prominently features Verizon’s logo at the top and what appears to be a front-facing-camera to the right of it.  We’re pretty sure this new handset has the standard four button layout below the screen, but it appears as though HTC has chosen to go for a much more subtle back-lit arrangement rather than having the buttons painted on the front of the device.

In the past, HTC typically reserved their Mobile World Congress press event for their international GSM announcements, so we wouldn’t be surprised if HTC keeps this handset locked up until CTIA in March.
