A stable build of Android 2.3 gets ported to the DROID Incredible

If you’ve been keeping an eye on the Android development community over the past few weeks, you may have noticed that Gingerbread builds for nearly all of HTC’s Android (and even some Windows Mobile) devices have been popping up.  While it’s nice to see the development community move so fast, we have ignored most of the stories simply because the Android 2.3 build have been unusable.  What’s the point if you can get Android 2.3 on your phone if it can’t make a phone call? Fortunately, developers have not given up, improving with every build.

The latest Gingerbread build for the HTC DROID Incredible is the most complete Android 2.3 build we have seen.  Developers have gotten everything to work except for GPS and video recording.  The build is far from perfect, but if you like living on the edge, we’re sure you’ll be able to enjoy Android 2.3 for a bit.  Be sure to check out the video below or hit up the source link for instructions on how to install Gingerbread on the DROID Incredible.
