HTC EVO Shift 4G trademark application uncovered

HTC EVO Shift 4G trademark application

HTC may soon be ushering in a new member into the EVO family.  Apparently, HTC is looking to trademark the “HTC EVO Shift 4G” name.  HTC lawyers filed for the trademark in mid-October, but it looks like their request has not yet been processed.

A few of you may recall that the Shift name has been used before by HTC.  The HTC Shift was HTC failed attempt to enter into the UMPC/MID market with a hybrid device which features both Windows Vista and Windows Mobile.

While the HTC Shift never really caught on, it’s pretty safe to assume that the HTC EVO Shift 4G will have a much different fate.  There’s no indication as to which rumored HTC device the new name would be assigned to, but since the current HTC EVO 4G currently resides on Sprint’s 4G network, we’re assuming the EVO Shift will as well.
