myTouch 4G ROM reveals promo video and Yahoo Messenger with video chat

It’s been about 24 hours since we first got wind of the leaked myTouch 4G (HTC Glacier) ROM. People have been picking it apart and have unearthed some pretty interesting things. Probably the most visually appealing find is a short promotional video which highlights some of the features (video calling, DLNA file sharing, HD video recording) that will be supported by the new handset. Oh, and if you were wondering what flavor of HTC Sense would be included, the image below should be pretty clear. We’re hoping that the development community will be able to pull apart the ROM even further to see if the T-Mobile myTouch 4G will support HTC’s new htcsense.com site.

The ROM also unveiled the new Yahoo Messenger application with support for video chat. Simply install the two apk file needed on any Android phone with a front facing camera and you should be set to go. The app supports phone to phone and also phone to desktop video calling. We have not seen the app in action yet, but reports are coming in which indicate that Yahoo’s app is far better than some of the other alternatives that are currently available.
